by Harold D. Almond, M.D.
Harold David Almond was born in 1915 to a large, close-knit family in New Jersey. Coming to the mountains and forests of West Virginia to attend West Virginia Wesleyan College, Harold began a never-ending love affair with this wondrous place. Starting his practice in Upshur County in 1949 he devoted himself to tending to the lives of his patients until his death in 1999. This book contains fifty-five short stories about his experience as a small town doctor in post WWII rural West Virginia.
