by Dr. Russell L. Jones

Tracking the Stone Man is a collection of essays from Dr. Jones’ youthful introduction to Bigfoot to his becoming a leader in the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization (BFRO). Perhaps most interesting are Dr. Jones’ adventures and encounters in the wild forests, steep ridges, and hollows of the Appalachian Mountains, the highest mountains east of the Rockies.

He concisely describes conflict, emotion, debate, and “Bigfootery” within the Bigfoot community. Words are not wasted on Bigfoot “fuzz,” fantasy, and speculations. In eleven chapters, The Stone Man contains 38 b&w photographs, including five clear track photos. There are also two custom drawn maps, five forensic investigation drawings, and four appendices.
Dr. Jones also gives readers an exceptional description of the inner workings of the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization. The BFRO is widely known and maintains an excellent website, but for those on the outside, it seems tantamount to a secret society.
